When examining a child’s eyesight, visual acuity entails measuring the smallest size of an object that can be seen with each eye.
If visual acuity in one of the eyes is less than normal, it may be due to a lazy or amblyopic eye. In this case, early detection is very important for the future development of the eye.
At the INOF Eye Research and Surgery Centre, with our resident specialist Dr. Fernández-Agrafojo, we are experts in paediatric ophthalmology.
The following video shows how visual acuity tests are performed on children.
